Passionate about and one of the country's great connoisseurs of the music of the legendary Buddy Rich. Roger brings with him a personal selection of his role model's musical treasure and I hope and believe that we will achieve a new press quote like this one said about Roger in his big band role: "Absolutely incomparably groundbreaking and a total surprise what a turn was performed. I just gaped in mute admiration for these musicians. Highest quality through and through!"BUDDY RICH (1917 – 1987) was an American jazz drummer, songwriter and bandleader. He is considered one of the most influential drummers of all time.Working with acts such as Artie Shaw, Tommy Dorsey and Count Basie. He found lasting success with the formation of the Buddy Rich Big Band, also billed as The Big Band Machine.Rich was known for his virtuoso technique, power, and speed. He was an advocate of the traditional grip, though he occasionally used matched grip when playing the toms. Despite his commercial success and musical talent, Rich never learned how to read sheet music, preferring to listen to the drum parts played in rehearsal by his drum roadie and rely on his memory.GÖTEBORG JAZZ ORCHESTRA is one of the most exciting movements in Swedish jazz.
