Cumbiasound is a global sound experiment blending Colombian cumbia with jazz, funk, reggae, Afrobeat, and Psychedelic textures.

Cumbiasound is not just a Cumbia band—it’s a living, evolving sound experiment born in 2010 on a sun-soaked sidewalk in La Dorada, Colombia. That moment sparked the vision for Cumbiasound: a project weaving together Colombian cumbia with jazz, reggae, funk, Afrobeat, space sounds - connecting Africa and South America through music and love.

Through the years, Cumbiasound evolved into a shape-shifting collective. Led by producer Daniel Fridell with Boogie Castillo, Lis Flores Varela, and José Pereelanga, the project has reached millions of listeners worldwide while evolving into a vibrant 8-piece live band. With explosive live energy and cross-continental collaborations, they deliver a truly global cumbia experience.
